    Our Hiring Process

Learn how our hiring process works

When you apply for an hourly warehouse role at Amazon, the first thing you’ll notice is that you don’t need a resume. Here’s what to expect from the moment you click “Apply” to your first day on the job.

The process for Customer Service roles is slightly different; you can learn more here.

    Complete a job application

Our online application consists of providing some information about yourself and selecting your preferred shift. This step usually takes about twenty minutes. After completing your job application, you can prepare for the next step by filling out a Work Opportunity Tax Credit Questionnaire and a Form I-9.

Learn more on the Application Guide.

    Attend a pre-hire appointment

Next, you will attend an in-person, pre-hire appointment. Review your pre-hire checklist for all the details on what to bring to the event, including proof of your identity and employment eligibility. You don’t get paid to go to a pre-hire appointment — it is part of the application process.

Tip: Be sure to bring the proper I-9 identification.

    Your Day 1 at Amazon

You will receive an email with schedule details. Before you arrive for your first day, you will need to log back in to your Amazon Jobs account and use the pre-hire checklist to complete the following items:
    1. Check the status on your contingent offer, including background check and drug test results.
    2. Once you pass, accept the formal job offer and complete employment paperwork.
    3. Order safety shoes — Amazon provides a credit up to $110.
    4. Set up your employee account on the Amazon A to Z app.
When you arrive to your first day at Amazon, you will dive deeper into the details of your work — including onboarding and training on important safety rules. This could also happen at a different location than your assigned warehouse, so be sure to verify where your Day 1 is located by checking your “welcome email.”

Tip: Wear the proper attire: close-toed shoes, no jackets or hoodies with drawstrings, no long necklaces, no hoop earrings, and have long hair pulled back and up.

Welcome to the Amazon team! We're happy to have you.
